Parish Bicentennial

As we celebrate the 200th Anniversary of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, we reflect on a proud legacy of faith and spirit that has shaped our church and community for two centuries.

Founded in 1826, our parish began with pioneering missionaries who held the first Masses along the Niagara River. Through times of challenge and joy, our church has endured, thanks to the dedication of clergy, families, and volunteers who have nurtured our community.

St. Vincent de Paul Parish has been a place of courage and kindness, from the early efforts of priests and parishioners who built the original church, to the many who cared for its grounds and supported its growth. What started in homes and simple chapels has grown into a cherished sanctuary for worship, learning, and fellowship.

We remember with gratitude all those who came before us — pioneers, families, and volunteers — whose acts of service, teaching, and compassion have shaped our parish. Their commitment is reflected in how we care for the needy, educate our youth, and welcome newcomers into our community.

Now, as we look ahead, we celebrate a vibrant parish life filled with prayer, music, and unity. Let us honour this milestone, inspired by our past and hopeful for our future. With joy, we welcome all to join in this bicentennial celebration of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
