Society of
St. Vincent de Paul
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization founded in France in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam. It was established in Canada in 1846, and today exists in 130 countries throughout the world. Our mission is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, and joy.
Our parish conference, established in 2023, aims to help individuals and families in Niagara-on-the-Lake deal with food insecurity and occasional emergencies related to housing or other pressing needs. We also regularly partner with other SSVP conferences and charitable organizations in the wider Niagara region.
Members of the Society meet regularly in the parish hall on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. If you are interested in becoming a Vincentian or learning more about our ministry, please email us at svpsociety@svdpparishnotl.ca or call the parish office at (905) 468-7272.
