Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)
Are you interested in exploring the Catholic faith? The OCIA program at St. Vincent de Paul Parish welcomes adults and older children who wish to join the Catholic Church. Our program offers a journey of faith, learning, and spiritual growth, culminating in the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
What to Expect:
Our OCIA process includes:
Initial Inquiry: An opportunity to ask questions and learn the basics of the Catholic faith.
Catechumenate: A period of deeper instruction and spiritual development.
Purification and Enlightenment: A time of reflection and preparation during Lent.
Initiation Sacraments: Celebrated at the Easter Vigil, welcoming new members into the Church.
Who Can Join:
The OCIA program is open to:
Adults and older children who are not baptized.
Baptized Christians from other denominations seeking to become Catholic.
Baptized Catholics who have not received the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
